Creede School District No. 1 is one of the highest-performing schools in the state. They were Accredited with Distinction by the Colorado Department of Education again in 2023/2024, and have received the Colorado Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award. The District obtained a BEST Grant from the State of Colorado Department of Education and a state-of-the-art new school facility was opened in the Fall of 2015. A small student body gives students exceptional access to teacher interaction, technology, sports participation, and more.

Creede Early Learning Center

The Creede Early Learning Center provides nurturing year-round child care and preschool services for children ages 1 year and up. They employ outdoor learning, whole-child principles, arts and crafts, reading, music, theatre, play and lots of love to provide a great place for our kiddos!

Adult Education Opportunities

Creede offers an affordable, quiet, and peaceful place with excellent internet access to pursue an online distance education. Adams State University, Western State Colorado University, and Fort Lewis College are all within a few hours' drive and offer programs which require mostly online and occassional in-person instruction.
